PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conductive member having high durability, capable of preventing image fault due to charge unevenness generated in a photoreceptor by maintaining a stable gap between the photoreceptor and the conductive member even when used over a long time from the beginning. SOLUTION: The conductive member 10 comprises a conductive substrate 1, an electric resistance adjusting layer 2 formed on the conductive substrate 1 and gap retaining layers 3, 3 composed of electric insulation resin on both ends of the surface of the electric resistance adjusting layer 2, wherein the electric resistance adjusting layer 2 is composed of a resin composition containing a polymer type ionic conductive material and is formed according to a wet type coating method. The polymer type ionic conductive material is preferably a mixture of polyether-ester-amide-containing compound or alkyleneoxide-containing polymer compound and an electrolyte salt.
