Acquisition route for voltage pulse and measuring procedure and system for partial discharges using such a route

Signals arising from partial discharges at various points in the equipment under test are fed individually through separate acquisition channels to a coordinating microcomputer. Each acquisition channel has an input unit (4) receiving the signal at the point of measurement. The input units (4) are followed by four modules comprising the channel. One module (5) determines signal pulse polarity and applies a limiting threshold while a second (6) controls subsequent memorisation. A third module (7) detects and maintains the polarised crests acquired and a fourth (8) selects the optimum measuring range.
