PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sustained-release ascorbic acid-containing fiber material which contains ascorbic acid or its similarly-effective derivative. SOLUTION: This fiber material is formed by incorporating the ascorbic acid or its similarly-effective derivative in a lamellar double hydroxide through intercalation and fastening the hydroxide to the fiber material.
