PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a private information deleting method, terminal, and private information deleting program for deleting private information held in the terminal automatically on the terminal side when the terminal connected to a computer network is discarded or transferred. SOLUTION: The MAC address of a router to which the terminal is connected is held in the terminal information table of the terminal in advance. At the time of starting the terminal, the MAC address of the router connected to the terminal is acquired by a MAC address acquisition part. The acquired MAC address is collated by a MAC address collating part whether or not it coincides with the MAC address held in the terminal information table. When the addresses do not coincide with each other, the private information in the user information file of the terminal is deleted by a private information deleting part.
