PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method for reducing the formation of tin sludge formed simultaneously at the time of blowing oxygen in a method of electric tinning using an insoluble electrode. SOLUTION: When the quantity of oxygen to be blown is adjusted to control tin ion formation rates in the method of electric tinning by which, while a plating liquid with oxygen dissolved therein is circulated between a metal tin dissolution tank and a plating liquid circulation tank, metal tin is dissolved, and the plating liquid is circulated between the plating liquid circulation tank and an electroplating tank to thereby perform electroplating using an insoluble electrode, variation in tin ion consumption scheduled rates over time is obtained from a sheet passing schedule, the tin ion formation rates are segmented per time based on the variation over time, and the tin ion formation rates obtained by averaging per segment is used as the average variation over time, the quantity of oxygen to be blown is controlled in such a manner that the concentration of tin ions corresponding to the average variation over time per segment is controlled to the tin ion formation rates not exceeding the control target upper and lower critical values within each segment.
