PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an ink jet printer to perform high speed printing with high image quality. SOLUTION: A drum 2 having a rotating surface SR being fixed with a plurality of sheets P1 and P4 is provided with a blank section BK being fixed with no sheet P. When printing is carried out in the blank section BK while altering the position of an ink jet line head arranged on the rotating surface SR of the drum 2, irregularity due to non-print is prevented, and an ink jet printer can perform high speed printing with high image quality while sustaining maximum operation efficiency of a head.
