PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound absorber capable of effectively absorbing noise of low frequency as an actual embodiment. SOLUTION: Many cavities 2 for low-frequency sound absorption are arranged in a plate type main material 1 along its plate surface, a through hole 3 having a smaller cross section than the cross section of each cavity 2 along the plate surface is formed on one surface 4 of the plate type main material 1 while linked to the cavity 2, and a cylinder body 6 linked to each cavity 2 is fitted in the through hole 3 of each cavity 2 to freely enter and exit from the through hole 3.
