PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine part capable of preventing its surfaces from being discolored and deteriorated by hot exhaust gas irrespective of the types of Cr used for forming a chromium plating layer (hexavalent chromium or trivalent chromium). SOLUTION: This engine part comprises a metal base material 1, the chromium plating layer 3 at least covering the surface area of the metal base material 1 heated to a temperature of 350°or higher, and an intermediate plating layer 2 formed between the metal base material and the chromium plating layer 3.
