PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a converting method for display data that can use display data recorded in general format without newly generating exclusive display data in order to display display data fast on a display device having a special recording format. SOLUTION: After longitudinal and lateral sizes are read out of a general image data file, processing for converting each vertical pixel array into a horizontal pixel array is repeated by the read lateral size. At this time, concrete processing is carried out in one-byte units in order shown by (1) to (9).
