PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for control of winding action in a crane having jib, suitable for improving workability. SOLUTION: This device for control of winding action of a hook 26 in a crane 12 having a jib comprises a first detector 102 to detect wound-out length of a rope connected to the hook 26, a second detector 103 to detect a disposed angle of the jib 21, a calculation part 104 to calculate suspension length H as distance from the tip of the jig 21 to the hook 26 based on result of detection by the first detector 102 and result of detection by the second detector 103, a comparison part 105 to compare the suspension length H calculated by the calculation part 104 with a prescribed reference value Hu, and a drive part 101 to control winding action of the hook 26 based on result of comparison by the comparison part 105.
