PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a star wheel device capable of solving various problems caused by indication with engraving or the like directly on the star wheel by indicating the type of a container to be handled on a type indication plate which is a separate member from the star wheel, determining letter form freely without restrictions of letters used for type indication, indicating in a desired prescribed direction, and providing reductions in manufacturing period and manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: In this star wheel device 3 having the star wheel 5 in which a plurality of pockets 5a for the containers 1 to be accommodated are provided on its circumference and a support member 7 detachably fixing the star wheel 5, the type indication plate 52 which indicates the type of containers to be handled by the star wheel 5 is detachably attached at an attachment portion 51 formed at the star wheel 5.
