摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive positive electrode for an alkali storage battery capable of improving high-rate-discharge property and cycle life property of the battery, and to provide the inexpensive alkali storage battery with excellent high-rate-discharge property and cycle life property. <P>SOLUTION: The positive electrode for the alkali storage battery of this invention is provided with a positive electrode substrate having a resin skeleton made of a resin and having a three-dimensional network structure, a nickel coating layer made of nickel and covering the resin skeleton and a cavity part wherein a plurality of holes are connected three dimensionally, and a positive electrode active material which is a positive electrode active material containing nickel hydroxide and filled in the cavity part of the positive electrode substrate. Among them, the average thickness of the nickel coating layer is 0.5-5 &mu;m. In addition to the positive electrode active material, metal cobalt and cobalt oxyhydroxide having a beta type crystal structure are contained in the cavity part of the positive electrode substrate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
