PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressure regulating method in which poor pressure regulation of a pressure regulation unit for delivering liquid while pressurizing is eliminated and durability of the pressure regulation unit is enhanced by decreasing the number of operating times of the pressure regulation unit, and to provide the pressure regulation unit and a liquid ejector. SOLUTION: When the detection signal SGH from an enlarged position detector for detecting the position of a pressure member has an H level and an actual pressure reaches a lower limit pressure for delivering ink, a CPU starts a routine for reciprocating the pressure member, updates the detection signal SGH every time when it reaches the H level by adding 1 to the number of reciprocation times N of the pressure member, and stops pressure feeding of compressed air to a cartridge by ending the reciprocation routine when the number of reciprocation times N reaches a preset number of times Nd.
