PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound exhibiting excellent plant disease controlling effects and a plant disease controlling agent. SOLUTION: The chromone compound is represented by formula (1) [wherein R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>and R<SP>3</SP>are the same or different, and are each a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; R<SP>4</SP>is a hydrogen atom or a 1-3C alkyl group; R<SP>5</SP>is a 1-3C alkyl group, 1-3C haloalkyl group, 2-3C alkenyl group, 2-3C haloalkenyl group, 1-3C alkoxy group, 1-3C haloalkoxy group, 3-6C cycloalkyl group, 3-6C cycloalkoxy group, amino group, mono(1-3C alkyl)amino group, di(1-3C alkyl)amino group, cyano group, nitro group, hydroxy group, halogen atom or the like], and exhibits excellent plant disease controlling effects.
