<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adequately adjust a gap and a contact state between a casing and a stack in addition to simple and economical constitution. <P>SOLUTION: A fuel cell stack 10 is equipped with side plates 60a-60d constituting the casing 24, flange parts 62a, 62b for connecting side plates 60b, 60d of the long side are installed in the side plates 60a, 60c of the short side.
