<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control data traffic within a group of a plurality of cooperating network nodes with at least one service function being available by a network node within the group. <P>SOLUTION: A logical quality-of-service (QoS) management method for peer-to-peer networks uses a special group service for QoS management within peer-groups. This group service determines a budget and a group budget per time unit for each peer. While a peer uses bandwidth, its budget is decreased. When a peer has an exhausted its budget, it has to lower its priority for transferring or receiving data. Each peer is responsible for keeping its own budget.
