PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for industrially advantageously producing ferulic acid. SOLUTION: The method for producing ferulic acid comprises culturing a strain belonging to Penicillium chrysogenum using sugar beet pulp as the only carbon source, bringing an obtained cultured solution into contact with beet sugar pulp to form ferulic acid and collecting the ferulic acid.
