PURPOSE:To improve the tone and suitability for running of a picture image in a diffusion transfer process by selecting specified physical development nuclei as well as specifying the Ag amt. in a photosensitive material for diffusion transfer process using Ag complex salt and specifying the amt. of bromide in the silver halide compsn. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive material for diffusion transfer process using Ag complex salt contg. >=8mol.% silver bromide per total mole of silver halide, contg. also a silver halide emulsion layer consisting primarily of AgCl wherein said silver halide emulsion layer contains <=1.3g/m<2> silver halide expressed in terms of AgNO3, is exposed using an original picture having continuous tone as copy. Then, the exposed photosensitive material is superposed on an image receiving material contg. at least one kind of physical development nuclei selected from nickel sulfide, cobalt sulfide, and silver sulfide, or contg. physical development nuclei which form at least two mixed crystals, and passing the superposed product through a developer for diffusion transfer process using Ag complex salt contg. at least 0.4mol/l aminoalcohol and at least 0.5mol/l p-dihydroxy benzene, to form thus a picture image having continuous tone. By this method, the tone and the suitability for running of a picture image are improved. |
