PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition timing control device for an internal combustion engine suppressing number of ignition timing map and preventing increase of software volume of engine control system. SOLUTION: The ignition timing control device for the internal combustion engine having an intake exhaust VVT 20 provided on an intake valve 5 and an exhaust valve 6 is provided with a base ignition timing establishing means A1 establishing base ignition timing Kb, an actual valve timing detection means A2 detecting intake actual valve timingδivon and exhaust actual valve timingδevcn, a target internal EGR index establishing means A3 establishing target internal EGR index EGR0 based on operation condition of the engine, an actual internal EGR index calculation means A4 calculating actual internal EGR index EGRN based on intake actual valve timingδivon and exhaust actual valve timingδevcn, and an ignition timing correction means A5 correcting base ignition timing Kb according to deviationαEGR between the target internal EGR index and the actual internal EGR index.
