PURPOSE:To use a photosensitive body equipping a surface protecting layer so as to completely execute destaticization at every copying cycle by projecting the photosensitive body with light which can activate a carrier generating layer that is an inactivated one in the exposure of image. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive body 1 is used, which is obtained by laminating a 1st carrier generating layer 3, a carrier transporting layer 4, a 2nd carrier generating layer 5 and an insulating layer 6 on a conductive substrate 1 in this order. When the carrier transporting layer 4 is a hole transporting type substance and the surface is charged in positive polarity, the 2nd carrier generating layer 5 is activated with photoirradiation. After transferring, the destaticization is executed to the surface of the photosensitive body 1 and, thereafter, the photoirradiation with wavelength which activates only 1st carrier generating layer 3 is executed. At such a time, positive and negative carriers are generated in the 1st carrier generating layer 3 and positive charge is transported in a carrier transporting layer 4 so as to cancel negative charge in the carrier generating layer 5. Thus, residual potential can be made 0V at every copying cycle. |
