CONTROL DEVICE FOR MODULAR TOOL

PURPOSE:To prevent manufacturing error by reading the bar codes on the bar code labels attached on modular tools and supplying accurately selected one of the tools to a machine tool. CONSTITUTION:The tool request signal ST if sent to an assembly controller 15 from the NC controller 14 of a NC machine tool 13. Said assembly controller 15 sends an assembly command to an operator according to the requested signal and simultaneously sends the tool code signal SC to a decision circuit 16. And said circuit 16 compares the specified tool code with the tool data on the bar code label 6 attached on the adaptor module 2 of the actually assembled modular tool. When the circuit 16 decides the coincidence of data of those codes, the modular tool is transferred to a tool magazine 9, whereby accurate supply of the specified modular tools to the NC machine tool 13.
