In the present invention, there are disclosed novel stable and non-hygroscopic salts of L-carnitine or lower alkanoyl-L-carnitines with 2-aminoethanesulfonic acid. These salts are suitable for the preparation of solid compositions useful as dietary/nutritional supplements for human use and as fodder supplement for veterinary purposes.
