Metering apparatus

Metering apparatus comprising wall portions which define an elongate generally upright cavity (18) of substantially uniform cross-section and an inlet to the cavity (18) to enable fluid which is to be metered to be fed into the cavity (18). A pressure transducer (24) is in communication with fluid in the cavity (18) when the apparatus is in use, to provide a signal which is indicative of the amount of fluid in the cavity (18) above the transducer (24).
