The proposed device for monitoring the service life of a switching unit contains a current transducer, a commutation detector, an operation hours meter, an analog-to-digital converter, a memory unit, a timing unit, and a testing unit. The testing unit provides transmitting the alarm signal after theservice life of the switching unit.
