PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an object holding device which holds an object so as to be flat by installing a first support means which supports one end side of the object so as to come into face contact, a second support means which supports the other end side so as to come into line contact and a suction means which sucks and holds the object in a position between one end side and the other end side of the object so as to be elastically detachable. SOLUTION: In a liquid-crystal display panel 19, a circuit part 4e on the side of a comparatively small area is supported by a support face 220 at a first support means 212 so as to come into face contact, and the end part of a polarizing plate 4d is supported by a support member 225 at a second support means 214 so as to come into line contact. Then, when a vacuum suction source 77 is operated, four suction pads 230 suck and hold the rear surface of the polarizing plate 4d firmly. Thereby, the liquid-crystal display panel 19 is held by the support face 220, the support member 225 and the suction pads 230, and the liquid-crystal display panel 19 is held so as to be parallel with the surface 210a of a base 210, i.e., so as to be flat. |
