摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pipe jacking method which is for use when fluid transporting pipes for waterworks, gas utilities, sewage, etc., are embedded under the ground without employing the cut-and-cover tunneling method, wherein an insertion port 2 of the pipe is movable back and forth in a receiving port 3 of the preceding pipe. <P>SOLUTION: In implementation of the pipe jacking method, the pipes are connected together by using an earthquake-resistant joint structure, in which the insertion port 2 of the trailing pipe is inserted into the receiving port 3 of the preceding pipe in order to be movable over a predetermined length in a range that does not allow axial slipout of the pipes, and then the connected pipes are propelled and embedded in the ground. Herein, the insertion port 2 has a thrust transmitting material 25 on an outer peripheral surface thereof, which maintains the insertion port 2 at a midpoint of the predetermined movable length in the range that does not allow the axial slipout of the pipes. Therefore, the insertion port 2 is propelled while being maintained at the midpoint by virtue of the thrust transmitting material 25, and when a pressing force larger than a propelling force thereof is applied in the case of an earthquake or the like, the pressing force surpasses a maintaining force of the thrust transmitting material 25, which releases maintenance of the midpoint of the predetermined movable length in the range that does not allow the axial slipout of the pipes, to thereby further squeeze the insertion port 2 into the receiving port 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p>
