PANTOGRAPH HEAD WITH OVERHEAD WIRE CONTACT FORCE DETECTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pantograph head with a built-in contact force detector with respect to current collecting equipment for railway rolling stock that runs at high speed. SOLUTION: The pantograph head 3 with a built-in overhead wire contact force detector is so constructed that elastic bodies 5 are placed on the under-surfaces of multiple micromotion spring mechanisms 4 that support a contact strip 2 divided into multiple pieces. Deflection in the elastic bodies 5 due to contact force is detected using a photodetector 13 and a computing unit 14. The force of contact with an overhead wire and the position of the overhead wire are thereby detected with a high-potential portion. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
