PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an infrared detecting element capable of increasing mechanical strength of a support beam, including both the bending stress and torsional stress, while keeping the sensitivity. SOLUTION: This infrared detecting element has a base frame 1; a light receiving part 2 arranged around the base frame 1, for receiving infrared rays; the support beam 3 having a bending point 12 for connecting the light receiving part 2 to the base frame 1; a hot-point bonding part 4 for bonding the light-receiving part 2 to the support beam 3; a cold-point bonding part 5 for bonding the base frame 1 to the support beam 3; and a temperature rise detecting part 6 for detecting the temperature rise of the light-receiving part 2.
