PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an appropriate deceleration even if deceleration control mode is established without passing forward travel mode. SOLUTION: When a shift lever is operated from the N position to the D position with an E mode selecting switch 76 turned ON, a deceleration control mode can be established without passing forward travel mode (D range). In this case, however, a target deceleration is initially set slightly larger than the deceleration in an accelerator OFF state in the forward travel mode, thereby preventing a driver from feeling incongruity due to the occurrence of an abrupt large braking force or the like.
