PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an equipment control system capable of easily changing the arrangement of a function without a complicated changing work between an equipment-group management device 2 and a controller 1 connected to the equipment-group management device 2. SOLUTION: In the equipment control system, the equipment-group management devices 2 have a plurality of equipment-group control units 22 and 22 controlling the operations of a plurality of connected equipment groups 3 and 3 and communication processors 21 relaying communications among a plurality of these equipment-group control units 22 and 22 and the controller 1. Then, the controller 1 has control units 11 and 12 controlling the operations of the equipment-group control units 22 and 22 for the equipment-group management devices 2. In communication processors 21 for each equipment-group management device 2, common data formats are used for the communication between the equipment-group control units 22 and 22 in their own devices and the communication between the control units 11 and 12 for the controller 1.
