PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a garbage disposer which can improve usability does not need large installation space and hardly causes the malfunction or breakdown caused by its water immersion. SOLUTION: This garbage disposer is provided with: a main body 10 which has a treatment tank 21 for housing a biological base material and in the front of the top surface of which or in the upper part of the front surface of which a feeding port 14a for feeding garbage to the treatment tank 21 is arranged; a rotary shaft 28 extending vertically; an agitating member 26 which has an agitation blade projected from the rotary shaft 28, is arranged on the rear of the inside of the treatment tank 21 to be parted from the feeding port 14a and used for agitating garbage with the biological base material; and an agitating member driving means (a motor 27) arranged above the agitating member 26 in the main body 10.
