PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make not to generate useless process or traffic when a content reproducing unit requests data from the midway of a content.

SOLUTION: A content server includes a content configuration table 101 including information of the head position of each partial content, a request receiving means 102 for receiving a request message including an identifier and range designating information of a requested content, a request analyzing means 103 for judging whether the range is started from the head position of the partial content by referring to the content configuration table by calculating the range of the requested content from the received information, a response formation means 104 for forming the response message having information for requesting the part including the information of the head position of the content designated by a content identifier by the receiver 2 when it does not start from the head position of the partial content, and a response message transmitting means 105.
