摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electron emission element with a high electron emission efficiency, an electron emitting device arranging the electron emission elements in a plurality of lines, a display device with an image display part combined with the electron emitting device and a manufacturing method of the electron emission elements. <P>SOLUTION: The electron emission elements 16 include a pair of element electrodes 40, 40 formed on a substrate and separated from each other and a conductive membrane 44 formed to connect the pair of element electrodes. The conductive membrane 44 is formed to connect the pair of element electrodes 40, 40 through a convex surface 42 protruding towards an anode electrode from the element electrode 40 and includes an electron emission part 32 at the center of the convex surface 42. By making narrower a width of the convex surface 42 than a certain value, a landing area of electrons is made narrower and an electron emission efficiency is improved when the electrons jumping over the electron emission part 32 are scattered on the conductive membrane 44. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p>
