DOCUMENT PROCESSING APPARATUS AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document processing apparatus that allows extracting writings on paper documents and printing documents composed solely of writings or documents where part of the writings is left behind by writers, and that also allows setting print limits for each writing.

SOLUTION: The apparatus is for processing documents by providing a paper document printed with information that specifies an electronic document for print. The apparatus includes a writing extraction means for extracting differences (writings) between the paper document and the electronic document and storing the writings as image information; a text conversion means for converting the extracted writings into texts as character information for storage; and a means for creating print documents by arranging the image information of the writings and the writing information of the texts.
