PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blank material capable of giving degree of freedom in a machining section, suppressing weight increase as much as possible, and giving desired rigidity. SOLUTION: This blank material 10 is constituted by welding a steel wire 12 on a surface 11a of a steel plate 11. In this blank material 10, since the steel plate 11 is reinforced by welding the steel wire 12 on the surface 11a, this blank material is different from a conventional blank material in which two metallic bands are reinforced and joined on a face where they are overlapped so that they are abutted on a line to give effective rigidity to a proper section without increasing weight greatly.
