Thermostat for a radiator valve

The thermostat (1) consists of a housing (3) having a rotating knob (4), and of a temperature-dependent expansion system (5) which is arranged in the housing (3) and has an expansion vessel (36) which is permanently installed in the housing (3). The rotating knob (4) acts via a bevelled gear (6), which is supported in the housing, and an adjusting element (7), which engages with the bevel gear (6), can be displaced axially and is controlled by the expansion system (5), on a pressure disc (8), which can be displaced axially and is seated on the valve plunger (15) of the radiator valve (2). The rotating knob (4) has a toothed rim (57) in order to engage with the bevel gear (6). The rotating knob (4) and housing (3) have overhanging edges (62, 63) on which the indicator scale is located and in which holes are located for cylindrical limiting stops. A theft protection device (26) is provided at the junction point of the thermostat (1) with the radiator valve (2). <IMAGE>
