PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the ferrule attachment structure and attachment method of an optical fiber with which the hardening of an optical fiber due to infiltration of an adhesive can be prevented, and also cost reduction can be attained by improving working efficiency. SOLUTION: At least optical fiber 15 is fixed by an adhesive 31 filled up at the pertinent section of a ferrule 30, and also an elastic cylindrical body 20 is inserted between a tension fiber 13 and a coated optical fiber 14 and the ferrule 30 is attached to an optical cord 11 by deforming the elastic cylindrical body 20 while caulking the ferrule 30 at a position corresponding to the elastic cylindrical body 20.
