PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric operating device for a bicycle capable of controlling two electrically-operated bicycle components. SOLUTION: A component for a bicycle comprises a manual input device, and an input circuit having a signal wire, a power wire and a comparison unit. The input circuit is effective when executing the electronically-controlled speed change. The manual input device has the first ON position, the second ON position, and the OFF position. The signal wire outputs a pair of input signals corresponding to the first and second ON positions. The comparison unit outputs a pair of output signals based on the comparison of the input signal with the reference signal from the power wire. The input circuit has a power-saving mode.
