<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator that can obtain a large drive force and has a large swing angle (swing width). <P>SOLUTION: The actuator of a two-freedom vibration type comprises a first mass 2; second masses 1, 11; piezoelectric elements 53, 55; vibrating bodies 7 that vibrate by being driven by the application of AC voltages to the piezoelectric elements 53, 55; supports 3 that support the first mass 2 and the second masses 1, 11; a pair of first elastic connecting parts 5, 5 that connect the first mass 2 and the second masses 1, 11, so that the first mass 2 is turnable with respect to the second masses 1, 11; and a pair of second elastic connecting parts 4, 4 that connect the second masses 1, 11 and the supports 3, so that the second masses 1, 11 are turnable with respect to the supports 3.
