<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vending machine capable of displaying information highly effective for advertisement, by enhancing the buying motive of a buyer in tune with each of his preferences. <P>SOLUTION: A display drive section 31, on the basis of image data, character data and a control signal from a second controller 30, drives a display 4 to output an image. A voice output section 32, on the basis of voice data and a control signal from the second controller 30, drives a speaker 5 to output voice. An IC chip reader 10 reads IC chip information stored in an IC chip A, to output the information to the second controller 30. A modem 33, on the basis of the control signal from the second controller 30 via a communication line 35, a communication antenna 36 and the like, receives data from the outside, and sends out the data to the second controller 30.
