PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a plant growth-adjusting agent easily decomposable under a natural environment, and having a high safety to human body. SOLUTION: The plant growth-adjusting agent contains a cis-cinnamic acid and/or cis-cinnamic acid derivative compound as an active ingredient, and the cis-cinnamic acid derivative is expressed by formula (1) [wherein, R1is a substituent capable of maintaining the cis-structure of the cinnamic acid by adding to the cis-cinnamic acid and also easily hydrolyzable].
