METHOD FOR RETRIEVING METADATA, USER TERMINAL AND METADATA RETRIEVING PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly retrieve necessary data from all metadata in a network in a P2P environment. SOLUTION: Each metadata are divided into one or more elements of an XML and managed in a metadata DB 141 together with an identifier. An expected value is set for each element of the metadata and the expected value is multiplied by a terminal resource value to generate a weight value. A neighboring user terminal is notified of the weight value for each element and all user terminals are notified of respective weight values to know the user terminal having the highest weight value. Priority is allocated to the neighboring user terminals having high weight values for each element of the metadata by repeating the notification to generate a metadata routing table 123. The metadata are copied to the user terminal having the highest priority in accordance with the table 123 and a retrieving courier is transferred.
