PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner facilitating taking-out and storage of a cleaning brush. SOLUTION: This vacuum cleaner is provided with a dust box unit 4 detachably mounted on a dust box storage part, a filter unit 41 disposed in the rear part of the dust box unit 4, and a brush storage part 40a provided in the rear part of the dust box unit 4 and storing the cleaning brush 53. The cleaning brush 53 is formed of a brush rod 53c having one end filled with brush 53b and a tubular body 53a inserted from one opening part 53e and storing the brush rod 53c. The brush storage part 40a is disposed in the rear part of the dust box unit 4 similar to the filter unit 41 to facilitate the taking-out of the cleaning brush 53 when cleaning the filter unit 41 and, when cleaning brush 53 is stored, the brush rod 53c is stored in the tubular body 53a to shorten the whole length and facilitate the storage.
