PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a patient who receives a hyperthermia treatment has to bear a high temperature, which becomes its obstacle, for a long hours. SOLUTION: This microwave hyperthermia treatment apparatus has a generating section which oscillates a microwave, a power source section, and a control section. In the control section, a radiation time motion timer, an intermittent motion timer, a second unit connecting terminal, and a remote switch are provided. In the microwave hyperthermia treatment apparatus, two units are connected through the second unit connecting terminal, and the two units are simultaneously used across the truncus from both surfaces of an affected lesion, and thus, the affected lesion is irradiated with the strong microwave which has been superimposed. As a result, a tumor temperature of the affected lesion can be raised up to approximate 43°C for approximate 1 minute, and a long treating time is not required, and therefore, burden of the patient can be reduced. When two remote switches are provided in the control section, one remote switch can be utilized as an emergency stop switch by making the patient himself use it. Thus, a temperature sensor is not required to be inserted in the body such as a conventional technique, and burden on the patient can be reduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
