<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a vehicle to start quickly in the condition that a deviation of the neutral position is corrected after the engine was started even in case a deviation of the neutral position is generated when a steer-by-wire (SBW) system is put off. <P>SOLUTION: The steer-by-wire system is equipped with a steering wheel 1 separated mechanically from a steering mechanism 3 to turn the vehicle wheels 2 in steering, a reaction force motor 6 to generate a steering reaction force in the steering wheel 1, and a steering reaction force control device 12 to drive under control the reaction force motor 6 in accordance with the steering condition, and the arrangement further includes a regenerated current sensing circuit which senses the rotation of the steering wheel 1 when the SBW system is put off, wherein the steering reaction force control device 12 starts the SBW system when the rotation of the steering wheel 1 is sensed and corrects the deviation of the neutral position by driving the reaction force motor 6 under control. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
