摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the catalytic reaction capability by considerably increasing the light reception surface area with a simple and compact structure in a photocatalytic reactor. <P>SOLUTION: The photocatalytic reactor comprises a reactor main body 2 having a large number of bundled needle-like bodies 11 having a micro-diameter and bearing a photocatalyst on the surface and fluid flow paths 15 formed in form of gaps extended axially between the outer faces of the neighboring needle-like bodies 11 and a light source 7 installed outside of the reactor main body 2 in the axial direction for radiating ultraviolet rays to the reactor main body 2. An object fluid G to be treated is passed through the fluid flow paths 15 of the reactor main body 2 while ultraviolet rays are radiated to the reactor main body 2 from the light source 7. Consequently, a remarkably wide light reception surface area can be obtained and therefore, the photocatalyst activity is increased very high and the contact of the fluid flowing in the fluid flow paths 15 with the photocatalyst is heightened very much and the radiation efficiency to the photocatalyst is improved and as a result, the photocatalytic reactor is provided with an extremely high catalytic reaction capability. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
