PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an iron oxide powder capable of industrially inexpensively producing and excellent in the cleaning performance of VOC. SOLUTION: The iron oxide powder has an average primary particle-diameter of 0.02-0.10μm, a specific surface area of BET of 30-100 m2/g, a Fe2+content of 5-33 wt% and a Mg content of 0.2-5 wt% as MgO.
