A dead body putrefaction preventive equipment that is capable of preventing the putrefaction of not only a dead body surface but also a dead body viscera for a period from dead body procedure to cremation and with which even anyone without specialized technique can carry out a putrefaction preventive treatment for dead body without injuring the dead body; and a relevant method of preventing the putrefaction of a dead body. There is provided an equipment for use to prevent the putrefaction of a dead body, comprising dead body heating means (10) whereby a dead body is heated by electromagnetic waves of given frequency so as to raise the temperature of tissues to one not lower than the point of coagulation of proteins constituting the internal tissues of the dead body and to maintain the tissue temperature at one not lower than the protein coagulation point; and dead body cooling means (20) for cooling the dead body having been heated by electromagnetic waves by means of the dead body heating means (10). Not only can any deterioration of dead body appearance and any putrefaction of the internal tissues of dead body be avoided until cremation but also as any specialized technique is not needed, anyone can carry out an appropriate dead body procedure.
