PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigeration device capable of being stably operated even when cooling load is widely changed, and simplifying its constitution. SOLUTION: This refrigeration device 1 implements binary vapor compression refrigeration cycle, and a refrigeration showcase 43 is connected with a low temperature-side circuit 101. In this refrigeration device, an output frequency of an inverter circuit for supplying the power to a motor is changed to control a capacity of a compressor 158, when the supply of electric current to the motor for driving the compressor 158 of the low temperature-side circuit 101 is suddenly lowered, and the sudden temperature rise of discharged refrigerant of the compressor 158 is detected.
