PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic sensor for an encoder, a sensor assembly and a lens barrel, capable of reducing gap fluctuation based on attaching precision and a tilt in a roll direction. SOLUTION: This magnetic sensor for an encoder is attached to a rotary cylinder along a circumferential direction thereof, and detects a magnetic field by bringing a sliding face thereof into contact with a surface of a magnetic medium polarized with a prescribed polarization pitch.
